I came here with my boyfriend and his family for dinner yesterday. The restaurant is spacious and has a nice, casual atmosphere. I ordered the Orzo Alexandra. It was delicious - creamy and flavorful. The salmon was soft and tender, and there was a generous amount of it. On the first bite, I could really taste the white wine, but after that, I couldn't taste it anymore. I got to try some of the other dishes that everyone else ordered, and everything was yummy. We had flan for dessert, and it was really good. The flan had a texture and flavor reminiscent of cheesecake and creme brulee. It was rich and creamy, with light caramel. I would recommend trying it, especially if you love flan. The menu is quite extensive, and I would definitely love to come back to try some of the other dishes. Oh, I also have to mention that their portion sizes are really good. I feel like you get a lot for what you pay for. The staff was nice and attentive.
My friends decided to have brunch here. It was my first time. Pros: Parking lot Spacious inside the restaurant Food was good (ordered: tuna melts and salads) Friendly staff Seated right away Cons: Nothing I plan to come back to try their other options on the menu.
I've been going here since I was little. It's been a while since I've been here. The place was pretty busy as usual. Upon entering, it looks like the place recently had a remodel. The inside dining looks a lot bigger, and the lighting is way brighter. The decor was simple and modern, but very inviting. We were greeted and seated right away. Once seated, we were immediately offered drinks and were given a few minutes prior to ordering. We ordered: 1. Country fried steak and eggs - The country fried steak was well battered and crispy. Hashbrowns were crispy and soft in the middle. 2. John Daly with no tomatoes - The scramble was hearty and flavorful. 3. Joe's special - Perfect balance of parmesan cheese, groud beef, spinach, and mushroom in every bite. It was pretty huge that I had food for later 4. 2x2x2 - Ham with scrambled eggs and pancakes. This came with a huge piece of ham. My only disappointment is that I wish it had been with hash browns. 5. Swedish pancakes - I loved the crunchy edges and the lingonberry butter. Honestly, this was more than enough. I ordered a side of bacon, which I ended up sharing with the family The food here has always been good, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The only downside is that the parking lot is small and gets full fast. I highly recommend this place and haven't had anything here that I didn't like.
Came here for the first time a couple months back with some coworkers and had to bring my boyfriend! We both got pasta, I got the Alfredo fettuccine and my oh my it was so creamy & delicous! I also got a side of chicken with it. My boyfriend got spaghetti and meatballs, he love it too. I was feeling a little sick and so he got me some tea too.
The food is good for a breakfast fix and the customer service is friendly and prompt. The ambiance is casual and this is where I'd suggest going for American food. Price is fair. Will come back.
This restaurant is located at Westlake. They have their own parking lot. However, it's kind of hard to find parking during their peak hours. We were greeted and seated right away upon entering the restaurant. They have an open kitchen. It's also kind of noisy in there. They do have an extensive menu. We decided to order the grilled salmon and the tutto mare. The food came out in a timely manner. The grilled salmon was moist in the inside. The mashed potatoes and sauteed veggies were tasty. The pasta for the tutto mare was cooked al dente. It came with a good amount of seafood. The parmesan cheese added an extra flavor to it. The server was friendly and nice. He came by to check up with us a couple of times. We will definitely come back to try their breakfast items and other entrees. Note: Keep in mind that they only allow 1 hour 30 minutes seating for dining there.
First time at Boulevard Cafe. We honestly were hungry from the drive from LA and Blvd Cafe seemed solid with sandwiches and pastas so everyone could get something! Food: -Vegetarian sandwich (includes salad and fries): I loved this! Honestly it's something I would eat at home and it was HUGE considering it also came with salad and fries. I split this into 2 meals and I believe it was like $14-16 (I can't recall off the top of my head). Service: -The servers were great and had fun banter and were prompt and readily available. Appreciated them a lot! Ambiance: -Very comfortable, casual, dine-in sort of place where you can see friends or families or even solo people there to get a meal. Overall: -It was reliable for good food, price point, service, and especially since the four of us had such different cravings. I'd come back if I was in the area!
It's been a little while since I last reveiwed Boulevard Cafe, so thought I'd do so now! Once again, I met up with some friends here; it's a good choice for a group with very differing tastes and needs as far as food choices go since the menu is pretty diverse in its offerings. Had a couple of meat-and-potatoes-only diners in the group and there were plenty of options for that! Prices have certainly gone up in the last couple of years, but that's to be expected with the increase in cost for everything from food to wages. Still, there are choices that are reasonable enough for most diners. One disappointment, though, the early bird dinner options are gone, so no more soup or salad + entree at a reasonable cost. They still bring the warm complimentary baguette and butter to the table. I love the heel of the baguette, but that's never served unless you ask. I asked the person who brought the bread to the table and she said she'd go check; she never came back with anything. Our waiter, J-J, was very patient with us. Since we hadn't seen each other in awhile, it took us a long time to decide what to order; we were too busy catching up with each other! While the others continued to gab, I decided to try my luck with J-J regarding the heels of the bread and he came through with flying colors! I got a whole plate full of warm heels and butter!! Thank you, J-J!! I finally ordered the Avgolemono (Greek lemon chicken soup) as my dinner. A couple of others had huge salads, one had mac and cheese, another had the grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and veggies, and two more had the Boulevard Pasta (rigatoni, mild Italian sausage, mushrooms, arugula, cherry tomatoes, roasted garlic, chili flakes, asiago cheese). Everyone seemed to be happy with their choices; the portions were huge, so everyone had leftovers to take home except me! We were there for probably two and a half hours and not once did we feel rushed, although I kept my eyes on the diningroom to make sure there were always a couple of empty tables in case others wanted to dine. The staff at Boulvevard kept our water glasses filled and checked to see if we wanted drink refills; very nice service. Their great hospitality was noted and we shall return!
